Watch out for snares in rural parts
POLICE are urging the public to look out for snare traps in rural areas.
Last Thursday, a snare trap was found in High Legh with a fox trapped in it. Luckily, the person who found it knew what to do to free the animal and the fox only suffered minor injuries.
PCSO Andy Dolan, from Knutsford Police, said: “If you come across any similar traps on your land with animals trapped in, please do not approach the animal, as it will become more distressed and try to run away, causing the snare to get tighter.
“Please contact the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999 and they will send an officer out to free the animal.”
