Badger snared in Market Stainton
Another badger has been found dead in a snare. The unfortunate animal was discovered near Market Stainton in Lincolnshire.
An examination revealed that the badger had cuts around the neck, and that it had somehow manged to get its front legs through the snare. The snare had then tightened just above the back legs. A statement from Lincolnshire Police confirmed that, “It was established that the badger had been caught in a wire snare and had struggled for some time to escape before an undoubtedly painful death.”
Lincolnshire Police’s Wildlife Officer, Pc Nigel Lound, is investigating the incident.
