Appeal over illegal animal snares in Devon
The RSPCA has said it has discovered a number of illegal snares on private land in Devon.
The charity was alerted to the problem by a member of the public who found the traps, thought to be homemade, on land next to the Met Office in Exeter.
The snares, which were empty, are believed to have been set to catch rabbits, possibly by someone planning to eat them or use them as feed.
Anyone with information about the traps is urged to contact the RSPCA.
RSPCA inspector Pete Barton said: “These snares have been illegally set and we are very keen to trace whoever is responsible.”
